Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb Names Andy Goodell As Assistant Minority Leader Pro Tempore

Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I,Ref-Canandaigua) today announced the appointment of Assemblyman Andy Goodell (R,C,I-Chautauqua) as Assistant Minority Leader Pro Tempore. The Assistant Minority Leader Pro Tempore plays a vital role in preparation of floor debates and is also crucial to managing floor activity for the Conference.

"It's a pleasure for me to announce that Assemblyman Andy Goodell has been appointed as the Assistant Minority Leader Pro Tempore," Leader Kolb said. "He's worked diligently over the years to fight for the issues that matter to his constituents in Chautauqua County. Andy is committed to knowing as much as possible about all the legislation that comes across the floor. That kind of diligence and critical thinking will make him a great fit for his new role."

Goodell will be replacing Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I-East Meadow) who was appointed Minority Leader Pro Tempore.

"Working for the people of New York State is an honor and I'm eager to take on my new role," Goodell said. "It's important that we continue to reduce taxes, create common-sense welfare and Medicaid reform, and also work to make New York more friendly to farmers and small businesses. I'd like to thank Leader Kolb for this opportunity and I look forward to working together with my fellow legislators to get things done."

Goodell has been a member of the Assembly, working for the 150th District, since 2010. He serves on the following committees: Cities, Judiciary, Governmental Operations, Health and Social Services.
