"Today's Port Authority vote is a another critical step forward in our quest to rebuild the World Trade Center site in a way that honors the
sacrifices and the heroism of New Yorkers on September 11th, and in a way that best serves Lower Manhattan's many residents,
workers and visitors. The two new buildings, combined with the 9/11 Memorial, state-of-the-art public transit, new parks and new
schools will ensure that Downtown remains a vibrant, 24/7 mixed-use community. I commend Larry Silverstein and the Port Authority for
coming to an agreement that also provides crucial protections to the taxpayers. I look forward to working with my partners, Governor
Paterson and Mayor Bloomberg, in honoring our state and national obligation to fully rebuild the World Trade Center."
