The ratification of a new labor contract by the hard working members of CSEA is an important step in the continuing recovery of our state's economy. As CSEA President Danny Donohue has said, these are not ordinary times, and the members of this union stepped forward and worked with Governor Cuomo to craft a responsible and reasonable agreement to protect jobs and build New York's future. Everyone recognizes that we can not and will not solve New York's fiscal problems on the backs of its workforce, but this vote sends an important message that we can work together to build the long-term financial stability of our state. I commend Governor Cuomo, Danny Donohue, and the entire CSEA leadership team for their hard work in crafting a deal that was built on mutual respect so we can move New York forward. I hope other contracts will be approved in a similarly cooperative fashion.
