Speaker Silver Supports Governor Cuomo's Announcement of $738 million In State Funding for Regional Economic Development Council Awards

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver joined Governor Mario Cuomo today in Albany in to announce $738 million in funding for Round Two of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative.

In Silver's remarks to the award recipients, he credited the regional council initiative for developing job growth plans that are tailored to each region's competitive advantages, an approach to economic development that he and the Assembly have supported for close to two decades with encouraging results.
