Live video and audio of the New York State Assembly legislative session is broadcast over the Internet in RealMedia format. To listen to and view the Assembly session, you will need a computer with speakers, a sound card, as well as a copy of the RealPlayer utility (version 6 or higher). RealPlayer is available for free from RealNetworks (www.real.com). Broadcast quality can be affected by visitors' connection speed and/or Internet network congestion.

To set up RealPlayer to allow for closed captioning: click View, Preferences, Content, Accessibility Settings, check "Use accessibility features when available" and click Show Captions.

To set up RealOne to allow for closed captioning: click Tools, Preferences, Content, and check "Use supplemental text captioning when available" and click OK.
