Assemblyman Karim Camara, Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson, Family Members of Victims and Other Elected Officials Announce Unprecedented Statewide Gun Violence Reduction Initiative

Tuesday April 16th (New York, NY)--On Wednesday, April 17th, 2013, New York State
Assemblyman Karim Camara and Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson will announce the start of an unparalleled statewide initiative to reduce gun violence and the introduction of a joint resolution to mark June as Gun Violence Awareness Month. Simultaneously across the State other Mayors, County Executives and Officials will echo that sentiment with resolutions and proclamations of their own.
The following elected leaders are supporting Camara and Hassell- Thompson in this initiative by announcing resolutions and/or proclamations in their respective areas: Mayors Byron Brown (Buffalo), Stephanie Miner (Syracuse), Gerald Jennings (Albany), Thomas Richards (Rochester),Michael Spano (Yonkers), Wayne Hall Sr. (Hempstead), Ernest Davis (Mount Vernon), County Executive Steve Bellone (Suffolk), Westchester County Board of Legislators Chair Ken Jenkins, Oswego County Board of Legislators Minority Leader Michael Kunzwiler, Town of Lenox Supervisor Rocky DiVeronica (Madison County), Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer (New York County) and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. (Bronx County).
