NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

SUBJECT:
Increasing efficiencies in interactions between government agencies and small businesses.

PURPOSE:
To examine ways in which New York State can reduce "red tape" to ensure streamlined and efficient interactions between small businesses, municipalities, and state agencies.

New York, New York

Wednesday, June 26, 2013
11:00 A.M.
Assembly Hearing Room
250 Broadway,
Room 1923, 19th Floor

This hearing will examine how the State can better serve small businesses by coordinating its various services to reduce duplication, eliminate antiquated practices, and streamline regulatory requirements. Additionally, it will review municipal practices regarding fines and fees that are assessed on small businesses, determine their efficiency and necessity, and seek alternative methods of government interaction that lead to further economic growth for small businesses. Testimony will be welcomed from small businesses, government agencies, the banking and financial services communities, and non-profit organizations, in an effort to ensure that the needs of small businesses are effectively identified.

Ten copies of any prepared testimony should be submitted at the hearing registration desk. The Committees would appreciate advance receipt of prepared statements.

In order to further publicize these hearings, please inform interested parties and organizations of the Committees' interest in hearing testimony from all sources.

In order to meet the needs of those who may have a disability, the Assembly, in accordance with its policy of non-discrimination on the basis of disability, as well as the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), has made its facilities and services available to all individuals with disabilities.
