       AN ACT to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain  transportation
         contracts of the Greenport public school district

         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

    1    Section 1. All acts done and proceedings heretofore had and  taken  or
    2  caused  to  be had and taken by the Greenport public school district and
    3  by all officers, employees or agents of such school district relating to
    4  or  in  connection  with  certain  transportation  contracts:   EO11076,
    5  EO12203,   EO12208,  EO12206,  EO01438,  EO12307  and  EO11079  for  the
    6  2001-2002 school year, EO12203, EO12208 and EO11076  for  the  2002-2003
    7  school  year  and  EO11076, EO01438, EO11079, EO12203, EO12206, EO12208,
    8  E701134 and E701135 for the 2003-2004 school year with various  contrac-
    9  tors,  and  all acts incidental thereto are hereby legalized, validated,
   10  ratified and confirmed,  notwithstanding  any  failure  of  such  school
   11  district  to  comply  with  the  contract  award,  approvals  and filing
   12  provisions of the education law, general municipal law or any other  law
   13  or  any  other statutory authority, rule or regulation, other than those
   14  filing provisions defined in paragraph a of  subdivision  5  of  section
   15  3604  of  the education law, in relation to any omission, error, defect,
   16  irregularity or  illegality  in  such  proceeding  had  and  taken,  and
   17  provided further that any amount due and payable to the Greenport public
   18  school  district  as  a result of this act shall be paid pursuant to the
   19  provisions of paragraph c of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the educa-
   20  tion law.

    1    S 2. The education department  is  hereby  directed  to  consider  the
    2  contracts set forth in section one of this act for transportation aid as
    3  valid and proper obligations of the Greenport public school district.
    4    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
