        Introduced  by  Sens.  MARCELLINO,  LARKIN, MAZIARZ, RANZENHOFER -- read

        AN  ACT  to amend the insurance law, in relation to insuring motor vehi-
          cles used for volunteer firefighting
 

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Section  3425 of the insurance law is amended by adding a
     2  new subsection (s) to read as follows:
     3    (s) With respect to automobile insurance, no insurer shall  refuse  to
     4  issue  or  renew  a  covered individually-owned private passenger policy
     5  solely on the ground that the motor vehicle to  be  insured  under  such
     6  policy shall be used for volunteer firefighting.
     7    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
     8  have become a law.
