AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of
the state highway system in the county of Niagara as the "Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 313 Memorial Highway"
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-b to
2 read as follows:
3 S 344-B. PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE
4 "VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS POST 313 MEMORIAL HIGHWAY". ALL THAT PORTION
5 OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM IN THE COUNTY OF NIAGARA CONSTITUTING STATE
6 ROUTE NINETY-THREE BEGINNING IN THE VILLAGE OF YOUNGSTOWN AT THE INTER-
7 SECTION WITH STATE ROUTE EIGHTEEN-F, PROCEEDING EAST THROUGH SAID
8 VILLAGE AND TERMINATING AT THE VILLAGE LINE OF THE VILLAGE OF YOUNGSTOWN
9 IN THE COUNTY OF NIAGARA, SHALL BE DESIGNATED AND KNOWN AS THE "VETERANS
10 OF FOREIGN WARS POST 313 MEMORIAL HIGHWAY".
11 S 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
12 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
13 as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid
14 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig-
15 nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of
16 ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway shall not be
17 changed as a result of this act.
18 S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
