  TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to establishing a no fare program for transportation on New York city transit authority systems, the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Company for duly enrolled members of the auxiliary police   PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:   SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: To allow duly enrolled members of the auxiliary police to ride on the New York city transit authority systems, the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Commuter Rail Road Company for free.   JUSTIFICATION: By passing this law protection and safety of commuters on the New York city transit authority systems, the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Commuter Rail Road Company would be increased. Addi- tionally, men and women who serve the auxiliary police should not have to incur the added cost of paying for the Long Island Rail Road for their commute.   PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:   FISCAL IMPLICATIONS FOR STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS: To be determined.   EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall have become a law.
