       Introduced  by  M. of A. MENG -- read once and referred to the Committee
         on Veterans' Affairs

       AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation  to  requiring  New  York
         state  to  keep  a  record of all veteran-owned businesses that have a
         contract with the state

         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

    1    Section  1.    Section 353 of the executive law is amended by adding a
    2  new subdivision 21 to read as follows:
    3    21. TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ANNUAL REPORT, AS  REQUIRED  BY  SUBDIVISION
    4  ELEVEN  OF  THIS  SECTION, A RECORD OF ALL VETERAN-OWNED BUSINESSES THAT
    5  HAVE A CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF NEW YORK, TO BE LISTED BY THE  FOLLOW-
    6  ING  DESIGNATIONS: BUSINESS CONCERN OWNED AND CONTROLLED BY VETERANS AND
    7  BUSINESS CONCERN OWNED AND CONTROLLED BY SERVICE-DISABLED VETERANS. SUCH
    8  LISTING SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO  THE  NAME  OF  THE  VETERAN
    9  OWNER OR OWNERS OF EACH BUSINESS, LOCATION OF EACH SUCH BUSINESS AND THE
   10  TYPE  OF EACH SUCH BUSINESS. THE DIVISION SHALL REQUEST THIS INFORMATION
   11  ANNUALLY FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF  VETERANS  AFFAIRS  AND  ANY  OTHER
   12  APPROPRIATE FEDERAL AGENCIES.
   13    S  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
   14  have become a law.
