COMMENDING Andrea DeMeo upon the occasion of her
retirement after 8 years of distinguished service as
President and CEO of Trillium Health
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those individuals within the medical field who
distinguish themselves through professional excellence and who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life of citizens in the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Andrea DeMeo upon the occasion of her retirement after 8 years
of distinguished service as President and CEO of Trillium Health in June
of 2023; and
WHEREAS, Since 2015, Andrea DeMeo has been President and CEO of
Trillium Health; during this time, the agency has expanded significantly
from 1,000 patients to nearly 11,000 in 2022; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Andrea DeMeo has led Trillium Health
to achieve several milestones, including: achieving designation as a
Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike, offering primary care and
supportive services for low-income individuals and those living in
poverty; retaining its designation as a Ryan White clinic to serve
low-income individuals living with HIV; broadening service to LGBTQ+
communities, including prevention, testing and treatment services and
establishing the first transgender center of excellence in the region;
expanding the 340B prescription drug discount program; and acquiring the
MOCHA Center, Pathway Pediatrics, and Lake Affect Obstetrics &
Gynecology; and
WHEREAS, Expanding Trillium Health, Andrea DeMeo facilitated the
opening of new locations at 170 Science Parkway, 470 West Main Street,
and 39 Delevan Street to better serve the community; in addition, 21
subsidized housing units at Union Square, providing housing stability
for those chronically homeless were created and a Mobile Access Clinic
to serve the most vulnerable communities in Rochester was purchased; and
WHEREAS, Responding to the community at the height of the COVID
pandemic, Andrea DeMeo called to increase access to testing and vaccines
for the most vulnerable communities; and
WHEREAS, Supporting the formation of the ROC Pride Collaborative,
Trillium Health sponsored the Rochester Pride Parade and Festival; and
WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with
whom she worked, Andrea DeMeo will be remembered for her honesty,
integrity, keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique grasp of
human problems in her official acts; and
WHEREAS, As a leader in her profession, Andrea DeMeo has proven
herself to be a great asset to medicine and to the health and welfare of
the citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Andrea DeMeo upon the occasion of her retirement after 8 years
of distinguished service as President and CEO of Trillium Health, and to
wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Andrea DeMeo.
