        Introduced  by  M. of A. RUSSELL, BRENNAN -- (at request of the Division
          of Military & Naval Affairs) -- read once and referred to the  Commit-
          tee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  not-for-profit  corporation law, in relation to
          approvals, notices and consents to certificates of incorporation

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Paragraph (i) of section 404 of the not-for-profit corpo-
     2  ration law, as amended by chapter 139 of the laws of 1993 and as  relet-
     3  tered by chapter 431 of the laws of 1993, is amended to read as follows:
     4    (i)  Every  certificate  of  incorporation  which  indicates  that the
     5  proposed corporation is to solicit funds for or  otherwise  benefit  the
     6  armed  forces  of  the United States or of any foreign country, or their
     7  auxiliaries, or of this or any other state or any territory, shall  have
     8  endorsed thereon or annexed thereto the approval of the [chief of staff]
     9  adjutant general.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
