        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  environmental  conservation law, in relation to
          providing the definition of integrated pest management

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Section  33-0101 of the environmental conservation law is
     2  amended by adding a new subdivision 27-a to read as follows:
     3    27-a. "Integrated pest management"  means  a  systematic  approach  to
     4  managing  pests that utilizes a diversity of management options to mini-
     5  mize health, environmental and economic risks and impacts. These options
     6  may include biological, cultural, physical and chemical tools to prevent
     7  pest infestations or reduce them to acceptable levels.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
