        Introduced  by M. of A. BURKE -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Economic Development -- reported and referred to the  Committee  on
          Codes  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended, ordered reprinted as
          amended and recommitted to said committee
 
        AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to the applicabil-
          ity of the security guard act of nineteen hundred ninety-two to facil-
          ities owned by a public sports venue
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 89-w of the general business law, as added by chap-
     2  ter 634 of the laws of 1994, is amended to read as follows:
     3    §  89-w. Applicability. The provisions of this article shall not apply
     4  to a not-for-profit security  guard  company  [or],  public  entity,  or
     5  tenant  of a publicly owned sports venue which hires a security guard or
     6  guards for a specific event or events solely for its own proprietary use
     7  and which employs such security guards only on a temporary basis  for  a
     8  total period not exceeding fifteen days per year.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
