McDonough Celebrates New York’s Agriculture Industry During Annual Dairy Day Reception

Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R, C, I – Merrick) (above) this week participated in the Assembly’s annual Dairy Day celebration. The event is part of National Dairy Month and recognizes New York’s prominent dairy industry. The day features vendors and representatives of the dairy industry from across the state.

“It is important to take the time to acknowledge our great dairy industry,” said McDonough. “Agriculture is such an important part of New York’s economy and heritage. The dairy community is a significant source of income and jobs for many New Yorkers. New York continues to be home to small dairy farms and it is the hard work of the families that own and operate these farms that allows our state to rank third in dairy production nationally.”

National Dairy Month and Dairy Day are celebrated annually in June. Vendors from across the state were present representing various companies, organizations, and sectors of the dairy industry. These vendors included the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council; Cabot Creamery Cooperative; Dairylea Cooperative, Inc. and Dairy Farmers of America, Northeast Council; Garelick Farms; Hillcrest Dairy; H.P. Hood; Mohawk Dairy; Northeast Dairy Foods Association, Inc.; Ronnybrook Farm Dairy; Stewart’s Shops and Upstate Niagara Cooperative.
