Hevesi co-sponsors an Electronic recycling event

On November 2nd, Assemblyman Hevesi joined with City Council Member Karen Koslowitz to hold an E-Cycling event at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs. Used computers, monitors and other electronic equipment that are disposed of improperly have the potential to contaminate our environment and prematurely fill our existing landfills. Electronic products are made from valuable resources and highly engineered materials, including metals, plastics, and glass, all of which require energy to mine and manufacture. Reusing and recycling consumer electronics conserves our natural resources and avoids air and water pollution, as well as greenhouse gas emissions that are caused

by manufacturing virgin materials. Old electronic devices, such as computers, laptops, cell phones, chargers, calculators, etc., were obtained for safe disposal.
