Millman Hosts Fingerprinting Event for Children
May 2, 2006

Brooklyn, NY – On April 28, 2006, Assemblywoman Joan L. Millman, with the assistance of COPS-CARE, the 76th Precinct and Keyspan, hosted a fingerprinting event at P.S. 29 for children in the district. Over 100 families received a free set of their children’s fingerprints.
“An accurate set of fingerprints helps to ensure that families have quality identification data for their children to use in the event of an emergency,” said Assemblywoman Millman. She continued, “It is important to take the necessary steps to prepare for the worst, and a set of fingerprints provides the authorities with better information to reunite a child with his or her family. I hope that families never have to use the identification records we are making at this event.”
All records were distributed to the family of the child and the police did not retain any information.
