Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner Announces 2015 Business Tour

Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner (D-Round Lake) announced she will be touring local businesses to hear from entrepreneurs across the community about the issues impacting them.

“Having the opportunity to tour local businesses gives me a better understanding of what I can do to help them grow,” said Assemblywoman Woerner. “Every business has unique issues, and I want to make sure that all business owners know their concerns are being addressed.”

Assemblywoman Woerner recently helped pass a fiscally responsible state budget that holds the line on government spending, staying below the 2 percent spending cap. The budget also includes $1.5 billion for a new Upstate Revitalization Initiative to encourage infrastructure improvements, job creation and community growth.

Additionally, Woerner has been fighting to reduce red tape and make it easier for businesses to expand and create good-paying jobs. The state budget repeals 57 nuisance fees, including several fees that unnecessarily increase the cost of workers compensation insurance. This will make it easier for businesses to create good-paying jobs, noted Assemblywomen Woerner.

“As a businesswoman, I know the struggles that business owners go through on a daily basis,” said Assemblywoman Woerner. “I will continue fighting to ensure that small businesses throughout our community have the resources they need to succeed.”
