Blankenbush: The People’s House Is Here To Benefit All New Yorkers, Not Just NYC

Statement from Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Newport) on refocusing the House’s priorities on the entire state

“There is so much left for the Assembly to accomplish. One of the biggest priorities for the entire state is making the property tax cap, which has saved New York homeowners nearly $8 billion, permanent and delivering significant unfunded mandate relief. I am concerned that the discussion coming from the Assembly Speaker is focused solely on policy, like New York City rent control, that is heavily centered on downstate needs while ignoring upstate. While I understand rent stabilization may be very important for the speakers’ constituents, there are another 17 million people struggling to make it in New York. There is room for both priorities, but we cannot ignore the needs of the entire state just to satisfy a few.”
