Blankenbush: Governor, What’s The Hold Up on Women’s Equality Agenda?

Statement from Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River) on the governor withholding his signature on Women’s Equality Bills

“Collectively, each house of the Legislature worked in a bipartisan manner to pass Women’s Equality legislation, which we all agreed was a major priority in 2015. We did our part to pass tougher human trafficking laws, domestic violence protection laws, and measures to make the work environment fair and free of harassment for women. Yet, here we are, long past the time in which legislation is usually signed into law by the governor. Because of his delay, these important laws will not go into effect this year — women will have to wait until 2016 if he does not act now.

“Governor, please do your part and sign these bills into law. Stand with women as we have in the Legislature.”
