Assemblyman Stirpe: Governor’s Transportation Plan Will Boost Local Economy and Provide Relief for Thruway Commuters

“Governor Cuomo’s plan to provide vital funding to repair our roads and bridges and improve the quality of public transportation will give a much-needed boost to the upstate economy. What’s more, the governor has proposed freezing tolls for all New York State Thruway commuters until 2020, eliminating tolls for agriculture vehicles and providing relief in the form of a tax credit that will cut the cost of tolls in half for frequent commuters, helping Central New York families keep more of their hard-earned money.

“Transportation is critical to the success of any business or community. I look forward to hearing more details on the Governor’s proposed investments in upstate infrastructure, and hope to work with him and my colleagues in the legislature to ensure transportation in our region is as reliable and affordable as possible, so we can reduce the cost of living and doing business here.”
