Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R,C,I-Greece) recently attended the Greece Special Police Banquet where he honored Captain Elaine Falkner for her 50 years of service to the Special Police Unit. The Greece Special Police Unit consists of volunteers who assist the Town of Greece and the Greece Police Department.
“It is my honor to be able to congratulate Captain Falkner for her 50 years of committed and selfless service to the Greece Special Police Unit,” said Reilich. “The strength of the Greece community is found in the giving nature of its citizens. Captain Falkner, through her leadership, has demonstrated this commitment for the last 50 years.”
The unit is called upon to assist with traffic and crowd control during special events, emergencies, and storms and averages 5,000 hours of work per year. The Greece Special Police Unit is always looking for new recruits. Those who are interested can receive more information online at http://greeceny.gov/police/specialpolice.
