Assemblyman Tom McKevitt To Host Blood Drive
June 12, 2012
Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I – East Meadow) will be hosting a blood drive in conjunction with Long Island Blood Services on Monday, June 25. The event will take place from 2:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the North Bellmore American Legion Post 1749, located at 1298 Newbridge Road.
“Donating blood is quick, fairly painless and can save lives,” said McKevitt. “It is our duty to do what we can to help our friends and neighbors, and I’d like to encourage all who are available to consider donating blood.”
Donors must weigh at least 100 pounds, be between the ages of 16 and 75 (16- year-olds with parental permission and 76+ with a doctor’s note), and may not have gotten a tattoo within the last 12 months, unless applied in New Jersey.
All members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend. Interested parties should contact Assemblyman McKevitt’s district office at 516-739-5119.
