Assemblywoman Russell Joins Governor in Supporting Federal Aid for Local Projects
September 16, 2009
“I am joining the Governor in his support for both the Fort Drum Connector and the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge. Improving our local infrastructure is a vital step toward economic recovery and development. Both projects aim to enhance two of the North Countries existing assets. Fort Drum employs thousands of local residents and constructing the Fort Drum Connector will allow for increased employment and economic development. This project could also act as a perfect beginning for the Route-11 corridor for which I have been advocating. Secondly, our proximity to the Canadian boarder is vital to the continuing success of our local tourism industry, and the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge is a vital gateway for cross boarder commerce.”
