Statement on Ethics Reform Agreement
June 6, 2011
“The ethics reform agreement reached between the governor and legislature is a major victory for New Yorkers who have long demanded transparency, sunlight and accountability in Albany. The agreement will require lawmakers – including lawyers – to disclose their clients who have business before the State and will strip away public pensions from elected officials convicted of a felony – reforms that I wholeheartedly support. These reforms are a long time coming and I look forward to voting on the bill before this year’s legislative session concludes.”
