Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell announces $5 million in 2012-13 state budget for military base retention
March 30, 2012
“Military bases, like Fort Drum, are extremely important to the communities they serve – providing much-needed jobs, training military personnel to protect our country at home and overseas and helping support our local businesses. In an effort to protect military base retention throughout the state, $5 million has been allocated in the final 2012-13 state budget. An additional $600,000 has been allocated for military base redevelopment.
“Thanks to this funding, we can make sure that Fort Drum will continue to play a vital role in our region, helping grow and develop our economy and bring more opportunities to the North Country.”
