Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C–Holbrook) recently spoke with members of the newly-formed Ronkonkoma Civic Association of Islip, which held its first meeting on January 26, 2011 at the Ronkonkoma Fire House. The civic association is being formed as a voice for the community to address the concerns of local residents. The group arose out of concern pertaining to the growing heroin epidemic across the state and the impact that this issue has on the quality of life in our communities. Also present at the event were Suffolk County legislators Tom Cilmi and John Kennedy, Town of Islip Councilman Steve Flatteran, Councilwoman Trish Bergin, and a representative for Senator Lee Zeldin.
