Graf Blocks Bathroom Bill

Assemblyman slams attempt to allow men in girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms.

Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C–Holbrook) recently voted against legislation that would allow men in bathrooms and locker rooms designated for women. The bill would allow individuals to utilize gender-specific facilities by deciding if they feel like a male or female at any given time, increasing the potential for harm and abuse.

“New York City liberals are trying to create loopholes allowing men to shower alongside our daughters by simply declaring that they ‘feel feminine’,” said Graf. “Rather than focusing on protecting all New Yorkers from discrimination based on their physical characteristics, or sexual preference, the Assembly Majority is opening the door for serious instances of child abuse. I am appalled by this absurd legislation, and will continue fighting to protect Long Island children from all forms of abuse.”
