Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C-Holbrook) recently attended the Federation of Organizations’ annual awards luncheon for volunteers in the Suffolk County Foster Grandparent Program. Twenty-four senior volunteers were commended for participating in the program, which affords income-eligible seniors the opportunity to assist “at-risk” children in schools, daycare centers and other facilities throughout Suffolk County. “The Federation of Organizations is able to do such great work for Suffolk County’s youth because of the tremendous dedication and compassion of the senior volunteers that were honored at this year’s awards luncheon,” said Graf. “Not only do foster grandparents provide crucial support for local at-risk youth, but participants gain immense gratification and enjoy the work that they do.”
