Raia Announces End To EZ-Pass Surcharge

Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,C,I,WF-Northport) today announced that the 2006-07 state budget will include a provision that eliminates the $1 surcharge on EZ-Pass for the MTA and Port Authority. Raia noted that the change is expected to save downstate commuters approximately $23 million.
“I am pleased that the current budget will end this surcharge that wrongfully targeted thousands of my district’s commuters but not the rest of the state,” said Raia.
