To help capture the holiday spirit and give back to the community, especially those in need, Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,I,C,WF-East Northport) today announced his participation in “Operation Warmth,” a program that helps collect coats, hats, and gloves for individuals in need.
“The winter season brings escalating heating and utility costs that needy individuals and families must pay, which means skimping on other necessary expenses,” said Raia. “That means that some families in our communities could use food and clothing donations. That is why I am sponsoring Operation Warmth,” said Raia. “This program can help make a positive difference in a family or individual’s life.”
Raia said that beginning January 2 thru January 17 his Northport district office – located at 75 Woodbine Avenue in Northport - will team with the Copenhagen Bakery located at the same address to collect clean coats, hats, and gloves to be distributed to local churches and organizations.
“I encourage everyone to do what they can and donate this holiday season to help keep our residents safe and warm during the cold harsh winter months,” said Raia.
