“I feel it is crucial that we help to positively shape a child’s perception of themselves and others as early as possible,” said Raia. “Instilling positive virtues such as open-mindedness, sharing and respect for one’s self can help children develop a healthier way of interacting with others. This knowledge helps create a better community for all.”
Assemblyman Raia was escorted through the school by Deer Park School District Superintendent Elizabeth Marino, John Quincy Adams Principal Kelly Diamond and other staff. The assemblyman read to the classes of Mrs. Alexander/Mrs. Redden, Mrs. Bullis, Mrs. DePalo, Mrs. Dietch, Mrs. Evola/Mrs. Mozian, Mr. Galca, Mrs. Sciacca and Mrs. Tedeschi.
