Raia Welcomes Olympians To Capitol
Assemblyman Andrew Raia congratulates 2010 Winter Olympics athletes, downhill skier and bronze-medal winner Andrew Weibrecht, of Lake Placid, left, and luger Chris Mazdzer from Saranac Lake.
Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,I,C-East Northport) recently welcomed two New York Olympians to Albany. Andrew Weibrecht and Chris Mazdzer both competed at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada. Weibrecht, a downhill skier from Lake Placid, won the bronze medal at the February games in the Super-G event. He was joined by Mazdzer, a luge slider from Saranac Lake.
“Our Olympic athletes represent the spirit of amateur competition at its best,” said Raia. “I am very proud of these two fellow New Yorkers, Andrew and Chris. The Empire State continues to produce world-class athletes and exceptional individuals. I wish all of our current and future Olympians the best of luck in achieving their goals.”
