Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,I,C – East Northport) is encouraging the public to support the local art community and the area’s small businesses by attending the upcoming Northport ArtWalk. The event takes place monthly on a series of Sunday afternoons, beginning April 17 and continuing through September 11.
“The ArtWalk is a great way to start off the spring season,” Raia said. “This is the perfect opportunity for families to get out and support local artists while spending time in historic Northport Village.”
The Northport ArtWalk is a self-guided tour of the many galleries and studios along Northport’s historic Harbor and Main Street. Organized by Northport’s Chamber of Commerce, Northport Arts Coalition and many hardworking volunteers, the event is scheduled for the third Sunday of the month from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“This is a wonderful time to spend with your family and enjoy local community culture at its best,” Raia said. “By supporting our art community, we are helping small businesses thrive in tough economic times.”
