Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R, I, C – East Northport) attended the 2011 Great Greenlawn Sciencebed Race and Parade on May 1. This event educates the community on the various branches of science in an active and fun environment. The science-themed parade and bed race is hosted by Science-A-Peel, Inc, with the help of national and local organizations and businesses. Science-A-Peel also produces the local Cablevision show, “Science is Appealing,” which is broadcast weekly on channel 115.

“It was great to see families out on this gorgeous day participating in this fun yet educational event,” said Raia. “I applaud Science-A-Peel for their ingenuity and innovation. It’s a great chance for families to be active in their community while learning to appreciate the field of science. I’m excited for next year’s event. I’m already drafting up blueprints for my sciencebed racer.”
