Assemblyman Raia Urges Residents to Prepare for Hurricane Irene

With Hurricane Irene on track to affect residents in the New York Metro area, Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,I,C – East Northport) is urging residents to take precautions and make preparations for the coming storm. “This hurricane is not to be taken lightly and preparedness is vital to come away from this storm without being badly injured or killed,” said Raia. “I urge residents in the affected areas to stay updated on the progress of this storm and any evacuation orders on local news channels, radio stations, and other media outlets.” The Assemblyman also noted important websites with information on hurricane and emergency preparation, dhses.ny.gov, www.redcross.org, www.nhc.noaa.gov, and www.fema.gov.
