Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,I,C–East Northport) is urging Long Island families affected by breast cancer, who are in need of information and/or emotional support, to use the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program.
“This Mother’s Day, celebrate the women in your family by learning more about breast cancer,” said Raia. “The Adelphi Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program is a resource for families to become more knowledgeable about a disease that affects 1 in 8 women during their lives. Those families who have a loved one battling this disease can learn from volunteers, most of whom are women who have survived breast cancer, on how to cope.”
For more information or to locate an accredited mammography facility near you, call the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program at 800-877-8077. The hotline, established in 1980, is a project of the Adelphi University School of Social Work on Long Island. All services are free. Those interested may visit the program’s website or find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/adelphibreastcancerhotline.
