Assemblyman Andrew Raia (R,I,C-East Northport) visited the East Northport Head Start to spend time and read with students. The Long Island Head Start program provides services in child development, educational training and job skills programs. Currently, the Head Start program on Long Island helps 1,900 children and their families. "Iím an avid supporter of our local Head Start program," said Raia. "Being able to bridge the gap of at-risk students provides them the ability to enhance their cognitive, social and emotional development at a young age. I enjoy visiting the students because their enthusiasm for learning is contagious and unmatched."
