Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt (R,I,C-Greenwood Lake) joined Chief Robert C. Hertman on Friday, July 10 at the Town of Wallkill Police Department to view the department’s new laptop computers, purchased thanks to a grant made possible by Rabbitt’s efforts. The two laptops will be used for training, incident command, and crime-prevention demonstrations. The 3:30 p.m. press conference was held at 99 Tower Drive Building B in Middletown.
“Crime prevention has been transformed in the 21st century,” said Rabbitt. “Just as criminals become more comfortable with technological developments, so must the law enforcement officers who patrol our streets and keep us safe. I’d like to thank Chief Hertman for inviting me to the Wallkill Police Department to view the fine work his brave men and women are doing on our behalf, and I hope these laptop computers contribute to their future crime-fighting efforts.”
