Rabbitt Blasts Budget Increase For MTA

Hidden in the midst of a very tough, very lean and very ambitious budget proposal unveiled today by the governor is a shocking proposal to actually give the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) more hard-earned taxpayer dollars. I am shocked and disappointed that the governor would feel it is necessary, with so many other massive cuts and spending reductions on the table, to give this mismanaged and disastrous authority one more penny of taxpayer dollars. I strongly encourage all residents in the MTA’s 12-county service region to contact their elected officials, state leaders and the governor directly to oppose his proposal to give the MTA an additional $43 million in taxpayer money.
