Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt (R,I,C – Greenwood Lake) delivered another batch of petitions to the governor’s office this week calling for an immediate forensic audit of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). While she is continuing to collect petitions, she is encouraging residents to call the governor’s office directly to voice their concerns.
“We cannot give the MTA one more penny until we know where every single penny has gone. Their transportation bonding is expiring and now they need another multi-billion-dollar bailout. Meanwhile, the people I represent are being forced to sell their homes, close their businesses and pack up the family farm because the payroll tax is literally suffocating their ability to survive during these still-difficult economic times,” said the assemblywoman.
In a video statement, Assemblywoman Rabbitt is encouraging residents to take the next step and call on the governor, the attorney general, local officials and “anyone who will hear you” to ask for an immediate forensic audit of the MTA.
