Rabbitt Calls On Assembly To Vote On MTA Tax Repealer

I was pleased to see passage of legislation in the state Senate to repeal the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) payroll tax and am calling on the leadership in the state Assembly to immediately follow the Senate’s example and bring this legislation, A.8193-A, to a vote before the close of this legislative year.

The MTA payroll tax has placed a heavy burden on local taxpayers and businesses throughout our community. The repeal of this tax will help businesses create more jobs and sends a message to employers that our state is willing to improve its business climate.
