Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt (R,I,C-Greenwood Lake) joined with law enforcement officials and public servants.
“Alert Cab has proven to be a huge success as it offers a safe way for people to get home at the end of the evening,” said Rabbitt. “This alternative transportation for adults who have indulged too much is a great way to keep our local streets safe.”
The Alert Cab program is a joint effort coordinated by the Hudson Valley Restaurants and Taverns and Dana Distributors, Inc. The purpose is to offer a free ride home to those who have consumed too much alcohol. This effort helps people get home safely and protects drivers on the road. For 24 years, Dana Distributors has helped to provide this option for local drivers during the holiday weekend.
Dana Distributors will be offering the Alert Cab program to any participating restaurant or tavern on December 31, 2011 from 4:00 pm through 2:00 am. In 2010, Dana Distributors provided more than 100 rides through the program, and 254,000 safe rides were provided by Anheuser-Busch distributors nationally.
For more information, please see your local participating restaurant or tavern for more details.
