Rabbitt Calls For Action To End Online Bullying
A Statement from Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt (R,C,I-Greenwood Lake)
May 1, 2012

Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt speaks at a press conference held Wednesday to help advance the Internet Protection Act. Joining the Assemblywoman, from left to right, are Assembly Members Pete Lopez, Tony Jordan, Dean Murray, Jane Corwin, Ed Ra, Dan Losquadro, and State Senator Tom O’Mara.
Assembly Bill 8688 would help put an end to online bullying by making anonymous posters no longer anonymous. Online bullying is a disgraceful and cowardly action that has very serious consequences, especially for our young people. Teens, in particular, are vulnerable to the constant harassment of online bullying; and as a mother and a legislator, I will certainly do everything in my power to help protect New Yorkers by supporting this important legislation.
