Assemblyman Brindisi: Assembly Budget Proposal Includes $5.4 Million for Military Base Retention Efforts
Funding would help protect Rome Labs from BRAC
March 10, 2012
“In an effort to help preserve the Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, the Assembly budget proposal includes $5.4 million to help protect military facilities retentions throughout the state. By including this critical funding in our proposal, we are taking the first step in a long battle to safeguard Rome’s military research lab.
“Currently, the Air Force Research Lab plays a crucial role in our local economy, as well as our national security. That’s why it’s essential that this funding is included in our final budget, and I will continue to work tirelessly to make sure Rome’s research facility, DFAS and EADS are maintained and continue to grow and strengthen our economy.
“As the budget process moves forward, I will continue working together with my colleagues in the legislature to make sure the state commits to protect Rome Labs from next year’s round of BRAC.”
