Assemblymember Anthony J. Brindisi (D-Utica) is encouraging small-business owners and entrepreneurs to attend a statewide outreach initiative event next week. A team consisting of specialized employees from at least six state agencies will travel throughout the state holding seminars to discuss different types of programs geared toward helping small businesses thrive, added Assemblymember Brindisi.
“I urge anyone who has a small business or is looking to start one to attend this comprehensive event,” Brindisi said. “While this is a great opportunity to learn about state laws, I will continue to work to cut red tape and streamline government so businesses can grow, instead of being bogged down by burdensome state regulations.”
The event will take place on Tuesday, April 3rd at 6:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Utica State Office Building. Some of the seminar topics include: starting a business and adhering to regulatory timelines; obtaining and filing tax forms; and becoming certified as a Minority-and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE).
“Unfortunately, it can be hard to navigate the various state laws small-businesses fall under,” Brindisi said. “This is a unique opportunity to ask state experts questions you may have about the process.”
