Assemblymember Anthony J. Brindisi (D-Utica) and State Senator Joseph Griffo (R-Rome) sponsored a resolution in the State Assembly and State Senate to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Rome Federal Credit Union. The resolution was adopted earlier this week by both houses of the legislature.
"At a time when many businesses are struggling to get by, Rome Federal Credit Union is a true local success story," said Brindisi. "Since opening in 1937 as the Revere Rome Division Employees Federal Credit Union, RFCU has continued to grow and serve the community."
"This resolution recognizes Rome Credit Union’s service to approximately 1,800 members and its role in strengthening the economic and social fabric of the area through growth opportunities for individuals and businesses," Griffo said.
Susan Mendiola-Manager/CEO of Rome Federal Credit Union said, "On behalf of the BOD and staff of the Rome FCU, we thank the NYS Senate and Assembly for recognizing what we consider to be a milestone both in the Rome community and the Credit Union industry as a whole. We are honored to accept this resolution and look forward to serving our membership for many years to come."
