Assemblymember Brindisi: Assembly Budget Restores 6 Percent Cut to Office for People with Developmental Disabilities
March 8, 2013
“The effects of these cuts would be real and immediate. That is why I have worked hard for them to be restored in the Assembly budget, and will continue to fight for them to be included in the final budget. We must ensure that people in our communities have access to quality mental health services.
“The Assembly restores to its budget the 6-percent cut included in the governor’s 30-day budget amendments to the state Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) for services provided by non profits. The restoration will prevent cuts that would have devastating effects on some of our most vulnerable New Yorkers and their families.”
